Cross Training Burns more Nelly Fat

A cross-training program integrating vigorous aerobics and strength-training exercise is your best bet for burning off belly fat, according to a study published in the May 2003 edition of the Journal of Anthropological and Applied Human Science. In the study, researchers from Korea’s Dong-A University split test subjects among three groups: a non-exercising control group, an aerobic training group and a combined aerobic and strength-training group. Results showed that those who did both aerobics and strength training burned significantly more subcutaneous abdominal fat and visceral fat (the deeper fat within the abdominal region) than the aerobics-only exercisers.

What this means to you:

If you’re trying to deflate your spare tire by simply doing cardio, you’re making a big mistake. Push some iron, and you’ll see better results faster.
